His original plant in Malmesbury , Wiltshere produced the revolutionary plastic vacuum cleaners in brightly colored plastic which helped highlight its ingenious design . The new design became the best selling vacuum cleaner inside two years.

 More designs followed including the DC25 which uses a Ball technology for improved manoeuvrability and making it easier to use. The extra durability of this version comes from the construction  of the bin; it is manufactured  from the same material that is used to make riot shields.

Production of the Dyson vacuum cleaner, and the latest washing machines has now moved to Malaysia moved to Malaysia
